    • The biggest game of my life May 12, 2010
I have played domestic and European finals for Liverpool, I have represented my country and been involved in a relegation dogfight, but tonight's Europa League final is the biggest game of my career. It is certainly the biggest in the club's history, and I am extremely proud to be leading out the lads in Hamburg. It is a responsibility that I take v […]
    • Danny Murphy's end of season review May 11, 2010
PLAYER OF THE SEASON: In my opinion, it has to be Wayne Rooney, and not just for the goals he has scored. His desire and passion is fantastic and, at moments during the season, he has been the one player at Manchester United that has stood up and won the club games. They have missed him massively at this late stage of the season. ...
    • Credit due to Ancelotti May 6, 2010
If Chelsea were to win the title on Sunday, which I believe they will, it will be a fantastic achievement for Carlo Ancelotti in his first season in charge. It would break the stranglehold that Manchester United have had on the title in recent years which is refreshing for the Premier League. The double is still in their sights too, which really would cap a […]
    • All the pressure is on Mancini May 4, 2010
Having tipped Tottenham Hotspur to finish fourth throughout the season, I still stand firm that they will do it. The game on Wednesday evening at Manchester City is obviously a crunch game for both sides, but on their day, Tottenham have the ability to out-class any opposition. I have a lot of friends at the club, and it would be great to see them secure tha […]
    • Hamburg turmoil not an issue April 29, 2010
The fact that Hamburg have sacked their manager is not overly important to the way we prepare for tonight's Europa League semi-final. From their perspective, the club feel they should be higher up the league and the decision can work one of two ways. It can either have an adverse effect on the squad, who may now feel unsettled and their preparation disr […]

Tom @ the Brick

Just a few more photos for you.

image

After the game, I took Tom (with the permission of the doctors) for his first half of beer.

Tom enjoys his first half in the Brick with his dad.

Having his first beer seemed the appropriate way to end a perfect day and a wonderful result. The fact that it was with fellow Fulham fans just made it extra special for him. Maybe next time he will get his round in?

OUT.

Crap performance – No bottle or desire shown – Same old story.

Too much of this and not enough getting stuck in.

FA CUP on FOX.

image

I just wanted to reach out and let you know that it was announced today that FOX Soccer will now be broadcasting the FA Cup matchup between Everton and Fulham LIVE this Friday at 3pm ET. It’s the only place where people will be able to watch the match so we are pretty excited about it.

Feel free to let the rest of the Supporters Club know, please let me know if there is anything we can help you or the Supporters club with moving forward.

Best, Will

More of Tom’s visit to Craven Cottage.

Here are some of the photos we took on Saturday, I think Tom said he took well over 100 photos. As I think I said yesterday, no one said no to Tom, nothing was to much trouble. They have just played a gulling game and you could have understood if they had just wanted to sit down with a beer, but no. Instead it was “Hi I am (name) did you enjoy the game? do you want an autograph? have you got a camera?” What I am trying to say is, Tom didn’t have to ask – they offered. As one player said to me when I thanked him “No problem, were all dad’s and wouldn’t want our kids to go through what Tom has been through”.

From my experience yesterday, they are all thoroughly nice ordinary blokes, who have not forgotten that the fans count.

Tom at the Cottage.

Words simply fail me to describe yesterday. So often we hear stories about overpaid footballers being distant from the fans – not at Fulham and certainly not yesterday.

Tom and myself were treated like royalty from beginning to end, no they treated us better than royalty. Before the game Tom got to sit in Chairman Mo’s seat up in the directors box and Martin Jol’s seat in the dugout. Nothing was to much trouble and whilst it might be cold up on the balcony, when you are watching a second half performance like that and you have Simon Davies one side of you and Mark Shwarzer the other side, you somehow forget the wind believe me. After the game was simply amazing. Tom got to talk to most of the first team squad, get their autographs, pose for photos and here is the best bit …. the player who has supported and done so much for Tom walked in the room and handed Tom his and two other players autographed shirts (each shirt had a personal message for Tom) and then had a good chat for about 20 minutes with Tom. He then called over some of the other players to meet Tom. Certain players then introduced us to their friends and family.

image

As a dad I can never thank the players and the club enough for the day they gave my son yesterday. It is not an exaggeration to say that he will never forget yesterday as long as he lives, and I have to say that our first team are a group of toughly nice, down to earth people.

After the game I took to Tom for his first beer (the doctor said a half would be OK as it was a special occasion). The reception he got from his fellow Fulham fans when they saw he was wearing AJ’s shirt put another big smile on his face.

Somehow I think the Tower of London, Big Ben etc are all going to be a massively unimpressive after yesterday!

Thank you Fulham.
